Description
Sourcing grapes from the most southerly vineyards in Africa, Du Toitskloof produces this South Coast series as one of its premium ranges. The long day length and moderate temperatures during ripening results in unique varietal expressions, low yields and the achievement of true physiological ripeness at moderate alcohol levels with high natural acid levels that makes Land’s End a pleasurable drinking experience and adds to the aging potential of our wines.
Dune herbs, salted and crisp. At first linear with an undercurrent of seashell flintiness, then evolving to notes of the tropics, fresh pineapple, mango, a radiant intensity of fruit. On the palate the light of white pear and the green tones of kiwi fruit swirl across a juicy core of tropical sunshine, all this concentration balanced by an energizing freshness, whipping right through, so characteristic of windswept Elim. Sea-salt on the dry finish, an echo of green herbs.

In the cellar
Grapes are harvested early morning at 23° Balling. Layered in dry ice to reduce contact with oxygen, it is then transported in cold trucks to Du Toitskloof Wines for vinification. After crushing and destemming the juice is kept on the skins for 6 hours. Free-run juice is then settled and racked.
